Our Organic Farm-to-Table
El Nido didn’t have much local produce before. Most veggies and fruits were shipped from outside of Palawan. We wanted to be able to serve fresh and organic salads, farm fresh eggs, good meat to our customers and work ourselves towards self-sustainability and zero waste.
For the produce we don’t grow ourselves, we always try to source locally to help the community and for the freshness. Our restaurant benefits from the farm, but it works both ways. We send waste to the farm to be composted and used as organic fertilizer, and also use the food leftovers to feed our animals. It's a complete cycle of which we are quite proud of.
Free Purified Drinking Water
We give free service water to all of our diners and we don't sell plastic bottled water. We do have Summit in Glass bottles. Our contribution to a plastic free place. We are also happy to refill your eco-bottle for a small fee and we have a refill station at the entrance.
Bamboo straws only!
One of our project was to remove the plastic straws in all of El Nido and replace them with Bamboo Straws. We have helped to teach the local people creating the firsts bamboo straws and further distribute them. Many farmers from far-away barangays are able to earn a decent living now. We supply bamboo straws to other El Nido restaurants, and also ship them to other provinces in the Philippines. They are also available at our Souvenir Shop.
